Event: W.O.W.: Women (Board Gamers) On Wednesdays

Featured Games: We had a 5-way tie for the best W.O.W. games in 2024!  Drumroll, please ... the winners are Everdell, Marrying Mr. Darcy, Meadow, The Great British Baking Show Game, and Wyrmspan!  There was such a spread that we decided to set up all the games for open play on both January 8th and January 22nd.   No need to sign up for a specific game, we'll have plenty of copies, and if you haven't played some but would like to try it we'll still be available to teach, so you can just join in the fun!

Price: No charge to reserve a seat; $5 per person Play Area Fee due at check in, applied to a Sanctum gift card according to our policy. If you attend with an advance reservation you will also receive 50 XP to your Loyalty Account!  For a no-charge online purchase, select "Pay at Pickup" at checkout to complete your reservation.  Do not select "Credit Card" at checkout.

Game descriptions:

Everdell: From Everfrost to Bellsong, many a peaceful year have passed in Everdell — but the time has come for new territories to be settled and new cities to be established. You will be the head of a group of critters intent on just such a task. There are buildings to construct, lively characters to meet, events to host— you will have a busy year ahead of you! Will the sun shine brightest on your city before the winter moon rises?

Marrying Mr. Darcy: This is a card game where players are one of the female characters from Jane Austen's novel Pride and Prejudice. Players work to improve themselves and become more desirable as potential wives for the available Suitors. The ladies do this by attending Events and improving their Characters, but advantage can be gained by the use of Cunning. All of their efforts are in hopes of securing the husband that will make them the most satisfied character at the end of the game.

Meadow: Experienced nature observers bravely roam the area in search of plants, animals and various curiosities. They eagerly use their knowledge - in the meadows, among the grasses, they can spot small rodents, and since they are here, maybe a buzzard, a fox or even a viper will appear in a moment! Stroll through the picturesque surroundings, looking for inspiration and capturing breathtaking views. Be the keenest nature observer and score the most points from the observed species of animals and plants, landscapes and souvenirs collected from the hike.

The Great British Baking Show Game: Race to create your perfect bake with a hand of bake cards! Prove yourself over three fast-paced rounds. Will you create your bakes as fast as possible, even if you need to include burnt dough or a soggy bottom, or will you hold out for the perfect cards and risk not finishing in time? Who will rise to the challenge and claim Star Baker?

Wyrmspan: You are an amateur dracologist in the world of Wyrmspan, a place where dragons of all shapes, sizes, and colors roam the skies. Excavate a hidden labyrinth you recently unearthed on your land and entice these beautiful creatures to roost in the sanctuary of your caves. During a game of Wyrmspan, you will build a sanctuary for dragons of all shapes and sizes. Over the course of the game, you will excavate additional spaces in your sanctuary and entice dragons to live there, chaining together powerful abilities and earning the favor of the Dragon Guild.
